At Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry, we are committed to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of education, research, and healthcare delivery. Our Quality Enhancement Cell plays a pivotal role in this mission by continuously assessing, monitoring, and improving the quality of our academic and administrative processes. The QEC is dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. We collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to implement best practices, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and enhance the overall educational experience. Our focus is to ensure that our institute adheres to both national and international standards, which we strive to achieve through multiple strategic initiatives. Through regular audits, feedback mechanisms, and evaluations, we strive to create an environment that supports academic rigor, critical thinking, and professional growth. Our goal is to prepare future healthcare leaders who are not only knowledgeable and skilled but also compassionate and ethical.

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the College of Medicine at the Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry is committed to raising the bar of academic excellence. We believe in continuous quality improvement to sustain compliance with our affiliated university, JSMU, and accreditation bodies: HEC, PMDC, and WFME.

The department functions as a central body for monitoring academic processes, program review, curriculum implementation, assessment quality, faculty, and student feedback mechanisms for a holistic internal audit.

HOD INTRODUCTION

Dr. Zakia Bano, our acting Director and consultant Gynecologist.

She oversees quality assurance processes, academic monitoring, accreditation preparedness, and implementation of institutional quality policies. She plays a key role in aligning academic practices with defined learning outcomes and regulatory standards Supervising evaluation and feedback systems Ensuring compliance with HEC and PMDC standards.

Coordinating PREE documentation Leading strategic planning for quality enhancement Facilitating faculty and departmental coordination and future development al activities.

FACULTY INTRODUCTION

 Dr. Alfarah Rehmatullah: Conducting audits and Mock audits, Reporting and Documentation for compliance.

 Members:
- Dr. Ayesha Khatoon: Data collection and analysis for the six-monthly reports, Committees, and their TORS.
- Dr. Suwaiba Azam Waqar: Evaluating Key Productivity Indicators as metrics to increase performance.
- Dr. Abeer Ather Khan: Institutional Policy Review, Indexing in files, Dissemination, and Documenting Example: Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement.
- Dr. Saba Arif: Academic audit support during mock rounds of basic and clinical facilities.

 QEC Officer:
Student and faculty feedback processing. Survey coordination and providing administrative and technical support, including:
1. Data entry and report formatting
2. Record maintenance
3. Communication coordination
4. Documentation archiving
5. Compiling and making the Multidimensional faculty evaluation report
6. Manage and organize QEC events, sessions.

Functions of QEC

  • The Cell works in coordination with committees, academic departments, administration, and institutional leadership to ensure quality assurance across all domains.
    • Undergraduate academic program monitoring
    • Assessment review (formative and summative)
    • Feedback analysis (students and faculty)
    • Curriculum implementation review
    • Documentation of integrated teaching sessions
    • Clinical rotation monitoring (as per reports submitted)
    • Outcome-based assessment alignment
  • The Cell ensures that curriculum delivery aligns with institutional objectives and regulatory frameworks, so the MBBS Program keeps on creating excellent health professionals as per our institution’s mission.
